Scott Sedita Acting Studios is LA's most codified comedy-technique school. Sedita, a former talent agent, wrote The Eight Characters of Comedy, a sitcom-craft book that shows up on writers' room shelves as often as actors' bags, and his studio in Larchmont Village has taught his method since 1998.
The comedy track starts with a mandatory One-Day Comedy Intensive ($199 published), which unlocks the Sitcom Technique class and the invitation-level Comedy Master Class ($990 for a ten-week cycle). The drama track runs in parallel: the twelve-week Nuts and Bolts foundation course ($1,020) leads to scene study, on-camera drama, and a screened Audition Technique class ($975 for ten weeks). Online versions of several classes run over Zoom, with the online comedy intensive at $149. Voice and speech training comes from Patrick Mu帽oz, and private audition coaching and career counseling are available.
Know the house rules before enrolling: audits are explicitly not permitted in any class, enrollment requires submitting a headshot and resume, payments are non-refundable, and the upper rooms are invitation only.
