What this training is
Training grounded in the system works from what the character wants, what they do to get it, and the circumstances that constrain them. In practice most LA studios teaching under this name are teaching a rigorous fundamentals course in analysis and playable action, which is exactly what makes it useful as a foundation.
Who it suits
Actors who want fundamentals before choosing a school, and actors trained in a specific technique who have gaps in basic script analysis. It is a sound first serious class.

How to compare them
Because the label is broad, ask specifically what the class does week to week. A studio teaching the system should be able to describe its curriculum concretely. Ask what comes next, since this is usually foundation training that feeds into ongoing scene study.
